Child Trafficking

March 9th, 2011

Trafficking is a huge global problem that happens in both developing and developed countries. Although there are no exact figures of the numbers of children trafficked, it is estimated by the UN that half of all victims of trafficking are children. This Podcast looks at the issue of Child Trafficking and considers what we can do about it. Speakers are Baroness Mary Goudie who led the campaign for ratification of the United Nations’ Treaty on Human Trafficking and a subsequent Treaty of the Council of Europe on Human Trafficking and Simon Chorley, the Advocacy & Partnerships Officer for STOP THE TRAFFIK, a growing global movement of individuals and organisations working through local communities to tackle human trafficking.
